Kakini Building Humanity is a Delhi-based NGO dedicated to providing education to every child in the world and equipping less fortunate communities with the skills and resources essential for living a peaceful, dignified, and respectable life. Established in 2011 with just 45 children, today our trust has expanded its vision to serve the country across multiple dimensions, including education, healthcare, life skills, and disaster management.

Kakini Foundation was born from a dream to uplift the lives of the less fortunate. A small yet powerful group led by visionary leader CDR Sanjay Kaul envisioned a world where every child has access to education and every community thrives with dignity and hope. We at Kakini have embarked on this journey with unwavering determination and consistency. With over 14 years of operations, we have broadened our vision and become a beacon of hope, not only in the realm of education but also in healthcare, life skills, disaster management, and beyond.

Today, our Delhi-based NGO has touched countless lives and ignited a spark of hope in communities across India. We have made a positive impact, particularly in the strife-torn regions of Jammu and Kashmir and other areas of the country, by providing essential healthcare services, life-saving support, education, and counselling under the dynamic leadership of Cdr Sanjay Kaul. As we continue working in these domains, we have also witnessed immense potential in the rural parts of the country. A new chapter for the Kakini Foundation began with the upliftment of the economic, social, and environmental conditions in rural areas. We believe that with the right support, rural communities can be empowered and provided with opportunities that will help them thrive in their lives. Agriculture, a vital source of income for many, has become a central focus of our rural upliftment efforts. Through sustainable agricultural practices and innovative tissue culture methodologies, Kakini has helped farmers enhance their productivity, improve crop yields, and promote environmental sustainability. With the vision of bettering society, Kakini Foundation continues to make efforts and provide a platform for the youth of the country to rise and shine brighter.

CDR SANJAY KAUL
A Beacon of Hope and Devotion for Humanity and India

Our Founder & President, Commander Sanjay Kaul (retd.), embodies unwavering dedication and relentless zeal to serve humanity wholeheartedly. He is a luminary whose life epitomizes selfless service, profound love for his nation, and steadfast commitment to uplifting those in need. Driven by an innate passion to empower India’s people, Cdr Kaul ardently works to create a lasting impact on the lives of the underprivileged.

Cdr Sanjay Kaul is far from a conventional philanthropist. With a meticulous mind and a compassionate heart, he has devoted innumerable hours to nation-building, humbly away from the media glare, garnering immense global admiration for his devotion and sincerity.

In times of crises, such as the flash floods in Uttarakhand, the floods in Kashmir, or the harrowing second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kakini, under Cdr Kaul’s inspiring leadership, has been at the vanguard of rescue and relief efforts, saving countless lives. His enthusiasm for education and sports is apparent in his initiatives to introduce street football in villages and his unwavering commitment to career awareness and heritage preservation.

Cdr Kaul’s remarkable journey began as an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, followed by his commission in the Indian Navy in 1991. His determination and fervour propelled him into the elite submarine arm of the Indian Navy, specializing in navigation, direction, and nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare. After 20 years of distinguished service, he received the Certificate of Commendation from the Chief of Naval Staff for his exceptional leadership and dedication.

Upon premature retirement from the Navy, Cdr Kaul channelled his vigour into nation-building through Kakini Building Humanity and his role as Chairman and Managing Director of Reparo Defence & Aerospace. An ardent sportsman and adventurer, he pioneered India’s first skydiving company, Skyriders, based in Mysore.

Cdr Sanjay Kaul’s life radiates the essence of being a true servant of humanity and India. As the President of Kakini Building Humanity, he continues to inspire and guide the organization in its mission to uplift and empower the people of our beloved nation.

DR. AANCHAL KHURANA
A Beacon of Inspiration and the Driving Force Behind Kakini Foundation

Dr. Aanchal Khurana, a dental surgeon by profession, is the inspiring and compassionate vice president of the Kakini Foundation. She’s a staunch follower of Swami Vivekananda’s principles and ethics, which guide the foundation’s vision and mission. Her unwavering dedication has been instrumental in shaping Kakini into the transformative force it is today. Her unique combination of professional expertise, love for adventure, and commitment to service has touched the lives of thousands of underprivileged children and communities throughout India.

A trailblazer in adventure sports, Dr. Khurana holds an extraordinary record in Limca’s Book of Records for cutting a cake during a free fall skydive. Her pioneering spirit led her to become one of the first in India to establish a skydiving company, promoting adventure among the country’s youth. Dr. Aanchal’s passion for travel has taken her across India, inspiring and motivating countless students to dream big and embrace their potential. Her steadfast belief in the power of education and personal growth has catalysed change in the lives of many who have had the honour of crossing her path.
